Astana, Kazakhstan. June 10, 2025. Chapter Zero Kazakhstan has signed a strategic partnership with Valor Carbon, a leading regional developer and broker of high-integrity carbon credits and I-RECs to scale climate governance and environmental market readiness across corporate boards in Central Asia.
The collaboration combines Chapter Zero’s leadership in climate risk education for boardrooms with Valor’s hands-on technical expertise in carbon finance, Article 6 frameworks, and voluntary market access. With offices in Astana and Bishkek, Valor brings regional presence to serve as a technical partner, supporting the development of carbon projects, MRV systems, and deal structuring for companies aiming to navigate emerging climate disclosure and offsetting requirements.
“We’re building the infrastructure to help Central Asia plug into global carbon markets from VCM to Article 6 to CSRD alignment”, said Nurzhan Aspandiyar, Regional Director of Valor Carbon. “This partnership will equip corporate leaders with the tools to act on climate while opening new financial pathways for decarbonization”.
Aray Serikzhanova, CEO of Chapter Zero Kazakhstan, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership: “To accelerate climate action, we must start in the boardroom. This partnership bridges the critical gap between governance and execution - empowering directors with both the insight and the market tools needed to lead credible, measurable climate strategies. It’s a timely step for Central Asia’s transition”.
As part of the agreement, Valor will deliver workshops, market briefings, and carbon project diagnostics for companies in Chapter Zero’s network. The two organizations will also co-develop demand books and buyer engagement strategies, ensuring that high-quality regional projects connect with credible international offtakers.
The partnership comes as Kazakhstan and its neighbors prepare to meet both NDC goals and voluntary net-zero targets.
